Photographer's Diary
1st August - Glasson Dock
I had tried to take a week off the project to entertain some Palestinian friends visiting for a week. This was becoming an annual ritual which served two purposes, to keep my poor Arabic from becoming abismal and to pay back the hospitality recieved while I was in the Middle East. The week was broken by news of the Bridge being put into place on the Thursday and Friday. I frantically rescheduled and found two days to head back up north. I phoned the book designer, Cherry who said she would take pictures on the Thursday and I planned to be there for Friday and Saturday morning. As it turned out a call from Cherry just in time told me the main work would not be done until the end of August and I cancelled the trip.
On the Tuesday I headed north from my Father's house in Tunbridge, Palestinian friends on tour and arrived home around 7 PM. The light was superb and I quickly suggested going to Glasson Dock for some fresh air. We headed off and I grabbed a camera. The light was in and out but the photography was strong. My guests were keen to be photographed in such surroundings and I obliged.
