During the year 2000 D J Clark built a visual record of the Lancaster &

Tuesday 22nd August - Town Hall Lancaster
Not the most inspiring of subjects, but it seemed worth a look. I was met by
a Mike Derham from Housekeeping who showed me around with another collegue.
Why it took two people to show a photographer round I was not sure but this
was the City Council.
The tour was fascinating, the building was barely 90 years old but already filled
with history. I was shown the court room, the old police cells and a trip up
to the clock tower. It was all very stale and the few pictures of people I managed
to get seemed equally stiff. I kept telling my guides what great pictures I
was getting, but all the time knowing there was nothing too interesting. I was
getting bored of the ordinary and after looking at some great pictures from
earlier shoots on the project, I knew these were not going to make it at least
in the short term.
