Photographer's Diary
1st December Lancaster Market
I had thought some months before to get some footage of the photographic process.
It would be useful for TV publicity, and the archive. Embarrassed I asked a
student at Bolton to come to Lancaster to shoot me. He arrived on time and I
entered the Market. It was slow and hard work, like having a ball and chain
to carry round, but I did it and I hope it will be of use.
The market was busy and trading as normal. I wandered from stall to stall, but
took no longer than an hour. Everyone appeared relaxed and happy to be photographed.
The huge pictures from years gone back around the walls probably helped.
