Reebok - Wednesday 16th August
The reception was impressive, and I was already looking forward to this morning.
Reebok was undoubtedly the best known company in Lancaster though with a workforce
of 250 probably not the biggest employer. I was met in reception and taken round
the offices in the City Centre. These were hardened professionals who never
batted an eyelid at my presence. Mention of previous photographers, soon made
it clear this was an everyday occurrence.
Moving to the distribution warehouse, I was to find a different story. Compared
to Storeys, that sat on the other side of the road, this company was clean,
efficient and looked after its employees. Everyone was happy and proud to praise
the company. No one wanted to loose this job, with free shoes and other perks,
I could see the advantages quite clearly. We wandered through the vast warehouse
and my guides were happy to describe any of the process' in detail. I grabbed
some outside pictures and returned to base with Margaret, the PA to the communications
officer.
