General Information
During the year 2000 D J Clark built a visual record of the Lancaster &
Morecambe district using photographs and information submitted by those that
feature in the pictures. The project was conducted in association with Lancaster
Museum and has been archived for future generations to look back at the district
at the turn of the new Millennium. For more information on the project visit
the information page. If you find a caption is

Photographer's Diary
August 28th Georgian Festival
As I walked up towards the festival, my photographic brain got the better of
me as I took a detour down to the train station to catch any of the conservative
Jews leaving. I was in luck, the place was buzzing with them and I took position
to get a boarding picture waiting for the train. After the first train came
and left I realised the sun was wrong, so I moved up to the bridge to get a
better angle. It all happened just as I arrived. Two sisters in law with all
their children walked by wanting to chat, the train arrived, my mobile phone
went off and I ran out of film. Divine intervention of what ! I didn't get the
picture - the phone call was not important.
I was getting a little tired of forced City Council Festivals by now and this
was not to get my pulse racing. People in costumes, lots of Georgian speak and
music but no real soul. I photographed it, as I had done many previous festivals
and completed with the TV, press and amateurs a like, but it just did not appear
as the true Lancaster or one from the past for that matter.
