Photographer's Diary
Millennium Party: I had been told of the millennium party in Princess Ave. weeks ago and was keen to get to the only recognised street party I had found. I arrived slightly late to watch a pom, pom demonstration that featured more performers than the audience. The Deputy Town Mayor officially opened the proceedings with a short speech and it went on to an old man telling stories of his youth. The organiser apologised continually, obviously expecting a greater event "we've been let down" she kept telling me. I would have loved to have stayed for the tea party, but had to run.
